undaunted by rain

Jonah never ceases to amaze me. The photos in this post are basically a result of his doing; he got his boots on, asked for a little help with his pants and coat, and headed outside to play with his dumptruck. We spend a lot of energy worrying about whether or not things are perfect for our kids. In reality, they adapt and do just fine in most situations where they have love and stability. Location is not so much on your mind when you are 2 and 1/2; somewhere along the line our expectations of our environment change, and you can easily become nonplussed by just about everything around you. Thank goodness for children - they remind me that even when things aren't perfect, like a rainy morning, you just put your rubber boots on, zip up the rain coat, and get down to the business of playing.
